Ghanaians urged to be cautious when consuming poultry products

A staff at the Upper East Regional Office of the Veterinary Services Department, Robert Bayoo, has allayed the fears of poultry farmers and consumers in the region following the outbreak of Avian Influenza in the Greater Accra, Volta and Central Regions.

Speaking with Correspondent, Emmanuel Akayeti, in Bolgatanga, Mr. Bayoo said measures have been put in place in the affected areas to ensure that the disease does not spread to other parts of the country.

He however urged Ghanaians to be cautious when consuming poultry products.

Mr. Bayoo advised the public to report any signs of Avian Influenza to the nearest veterinary offices for investigation.
