Health Professionals in the Eastern Region have been dispatched to the various communities within the New Juaben South and North Municipalities to vaccinate persons who have not yet taken their Covid19 jabs.

This is to help achieve the government’s agenda of vaccinating twenty million of the population and also to dispel the myth associated with the vaccines deployed in the country.

The New Juaben South Municipal Health Director, Dr. Edmund Ekow Kaitoo disclosed this during a media engagement on the Covid-19 vaccination campaign. He urged the public to get vaccinated because the vaccines are not harmful to the human body as is being speculated. He appealed to those who have fully vaccinated to take the booster vaccine.

He revealed that nearly 12,000 people have been fully vaccinated while 1,669 have taken the first jab.

Eastern Region currently has only six confirmed cases of COVID-19 out of one 1,359 cases since the first case was recorded.

Dr. Kaitoo attributed the drastic reduction of the COVID-19 cases in the region to ”the massive public education, community engagement and sensitization.”
