Government to complete abandoned Health projects in Gomoa East District

The Government says it is working with the Ministry of Health through the Regional Directorate for Health Services by engaging with relevant stakeholders including the Gomoa East District Assembly to complete abandoned projects.

”The Ministry of Health is aware that the Nyanyano Health Centre lacks the needed infrastructure for a Polyclinic and has plans to upgrade the facility to a Polyclinic’, he noted.

According to Mr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, the facility currently has uncompleted buildings such as the Maternity Ward, Theatre among others initiated by the Chief of the Community.

The Health Minister said this while responding to questions by the MP for Gomoa East, Desmond De-Graft Paitoo on, plans to expand infrastructure in the Potsin Polyclinic in the Gomoa East Constituency to meet the demands of the people.

On a similar question, Mr. Agyemang-Manu said, the Ghana Health Service has not yet decided to upgrade the Polyclinic to a District Hospital as the question refers. However, there are a number of infrastructure provisions for the facility to enable it to deliver quality services to the people within its catchment area.

“Currently, the Coastal Development Authority (CODA) is funding the Adabraka Polyclinic to expand the Out Patient Department (OPD), provision of Conference facilities, construction of a theatre and offices”, the Minister outlined.
