Health service providers urged to observe Covid-19 protocols

The Programme Officer of PMI Impact Malaria, Charles Kafui Agblanya, has encouraged health service providers to observe the COVID-19 preventive protocols while attending to the health needs of patients to reduce the infection rate among health staff.

Speaking with GBC News on the sidelines of a two-day review meeting in the Upper East Regional, capital Bolgatanga, Mr Agblanya encouraged health service providers to adopt E- Mentoring to monitor and provide support for nurses in the CHPS compounds in the communities.

The United States President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) – Impact Malaria team provides global technical leadership along with implementation support, technical assistance, and operational research in health facilities and community settings in 16 countries across Africa and Asia.

Their three technical focus areas include Malaria in Pregnancy, Diagnosis and Treatment with five Cross-Cutting Focus Areas spanning Social and Behavioral Change Communication, Health Systems Strengthening, Monitoring and Evaluation, Operational Research and Elimination.

Mr Agblanya explained how his outfit is collaborating with the National Malaria Control Programme to help reduce malaria especially in children and pregnant women in all the sixteen Regions of the country.
