Kade Government Hospital in dire need of female ward and radiant warmer

The Medical Superintendent of the Kade Government Hospital in the Kwaebibirem Municipality of the Eastern Region, Dr. Stephen Quarcoo has appealed to government, philanthropists and NGOs to come to the aid of the hospital by helping to build a female ward for the hospital to promote quality health delivery.

Dr. Quarcoo revealed that the current female ward has only a 12-bed capacity, which is affecting the quality of health delivery of the facility. The Medical Superintendent appealed when GBC Sunrise FM as part of their yearly “Wishing You Well on Christmas Day” visited the hospital to celebrate Christmas with the patients and also donated a dental chair worth over four thousand cedis as well as assorted drinks, biscuits and bottles of water to the patients at the hospital.

“Wishing You Well on Christmas Day” is a yearly programme by GBC Sunrise FM where the station pays visit to a health facility on every 25th of December to celebrate the Christmas with workers at the hospital and patients who unfortunately due to circumstances find themselves in a health facility on the Christmas Day.

During a visit to the Kade Government Hospital last year, the hospital appealed for a dental chair hence the need to donate the chair to the facility this year. In an interview with GBC NEWS during the donation, the Medical Superintendent Dr. Quarcoo mentioned that the hospital is in dire need of a female ward since the current ward makes it difficult for them to serve the over 50,000 people in the municipality.

The hospital is also in need of radiant warmer, pulse oximeters, bilirubin machine among others to make their operation at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, NICU effective and efficient.

The Assistant Head of Programmes at GBC Sunrise FM and the Producer of Wishing You Well on Christmas Day, Frank Odei Anim noted that during their visit to the facility last year realized that the hospital is in need of a dental chair.

Through the benevolent of the CEO of Samba GH, Samuel Nana Baah who donated the chair to the management of GBC Sunrise FM for onward donation to the hospital. On behalf of the Acting Regional Director of GBC Sunrise FM, Joseph Adjei and the Management of the station, Mr. Odei Anim pledged the station’s continuous support to the hospital.
