The Ranking Member on Parliament’s Committee on Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has called on the government to as a matter of urgency make money available to run the national health insurance scheme (NHIS).
He said service providers have been owed since last year forcing many to consider disengaging the scheme in the discharge of its services.
He told journalists in Parliament that the default in claims repayment is adversely affecting the work of service providers, but was quick to plead with the providers to keep attending to the sick as they wait on the government.
