The Qatar Charity Foundation has handed over a new clinic to the University for Development Studies (UDS), at Nyankpala in the Northern Region.
The 12-bed capacity clinic comes with various units, including, maternal ward, delivery room, laboratory, and a dental clinic.
The facility is expected to enhance access to healthcare in the school and for residents of Nyankpala as well as nearby communities.
At the handing-over ceremony at Nyankpala, the Head of the Nyankpala Clinic, Dr. John Kase, said the UDS clinic serves thousands of clients, including students, staff, and neighbouring communities.
He revealed that infrastructure is one of the challenges facing the University and commended the Qatar Charity Foundation for support.
The Country Director for the Qatar Charity Foundation, Ahmed Mohammed Adam, on his part, said the Foundation has over the years supported projects across the country.
He expressed the commitment of the Qatar Charity Foundation towards supporting initiatives to improve the lives of the vulnerable in society.
