The Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Madam Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, has appealed to the Ministry of Education to include inmates at the basic education level in the Free School Feeding Programme, as well as extend other incentives currently available to schools.
She emphasized that such measures would encourage more inmates to pursue education.
DGP Baffoe-Bonnie added that the Service is committed to the reformation and rehabilitation of inmates in custody.
She assured that the service would continue to fulfill its mandate of reintegration and reformation processes.
DGP Patience Baffoe-Bonnie appeal was made during the graduation ceremony of inmates at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison, organized by the University of Cape Coast College of Distance Education.
