Black Stars captain, Jordan Ayew, has reassured Ghanaians that the team is fully committed to reversing their recent fortunes, starting with their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Chad on Friday. Despite a dismal run of form, which has seen the team win just two of their last 10 games and fail to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 20 years, Ayew is optimistic that the team is ready to fight for the needed results.

The Black Stars have been training since Monday, March 17, ahead of their matches against Chad and Madagascar.

The Ghana Black Stars have been training since Monday, March 17, ahead of their matches against Chad and Madagascar.

Officials from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation were present at the Accra Sports Stadium to watch the team train on Tuesday, March 18.

Ayew, who joined the team in training on Tuesday, expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to turn their fortunes around.

“We know we are in a difficult situation, but we will turn it around,” Ayew said. “When I see you guys (officials from the GFA, NSA, and Ministry of Sports and Recreation) standing here, I know that definitely it’s going to be a positive result on Friday.” Ghana currently sits joint top of the World Cup qualifying table with nine points, alongside Comoros. The Black Stars will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before facing Madagascar in Morocco three days later.

The upcoming matches against Chad and Madagascar present a crucial opportunity for the Black Stars to redeem themselves and restore the faith of their fans. With Ayew at the helm, the team is determined to put their recent struggles behind them and focus on securing the necessary results to advance in the World Cup qualifiers.
