The Chairman of Kloma Hengme Association, a Krobo Youth Advocacy Group, Isaac Tamatey Otu has advised the youth in Kroboland to take their education seriously to help promote the development that has eluded the Kroboland for the past years.

Mr. Tamatey Otu emphasized that education is the bedrock of the development of every society, hence the need for Krobo youth to take education seriously. He further advised the youth to find something to do and desist from engaging in negative vices such as drunkenness, fornication, adultery, money rituals, and smoking among others that hinder development and tarnish the image of Kroboland.

In an exclusive interview with GBC News at Somanya, in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region, Mr. Tamatey Otu noted that as part of the Kloma Hengme Rural Watch Project, the Association has embarked on numerous development projects in rural areas and deprived communities in Kroboland.

These include the provision of boreholes, farming inputs, equipment, and materials to farmers and provision of educational materials to schools, among others. Some of the beneficiary communities include Brukrum and Asinesi in the Yilo Krobo Municipality, Akerterbour and Akotoklo Ngua in the Upper Manya Krobo District, and Oborpah and Djerkiti in the Lower Manya Municipality of the Eastern Region.

Mr. Tamatey Otu hinted that on November 29, the Association as part of the Kloma Hengme Rural Watch Project will be embarking on another massive development project at Yonguase, a rural community in the Lower Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region.

Kloma Hengme Association is a youth advocacy group in the Krobo enclave that champions development and also projects and promotes the Krobo heritage.
