Authorities of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), have given students a five-day ultimatum to vacate the campuses of the University.
Ghanaian students, according to the authorities, have up to Saturday, March 21, 2020, to leave the campus, while international students are allowed to stay until further notice.
“Residential halls would be under a lockdown after the said ultimatum has expired,” a statement signed by Mr A. K. Boateng, KNUST Registrar and issued in Kumasi on Monday noted.
It entreated staff and students to follow the protocols as established by the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The statement indicated that the University community would be updated of any future developments.
Ghana has so far recorded seven confirmed cases of the pandemic since its outbreak about four months ago.
