Students of the Ghana School of Law will today go on a demonstration to register their displeasure over recent developments at the school.

Results released from the latest Entrance Examinations show that 90 percent of students failed to make the pass mark.

The results showed that out of the one thousand 820 candidates who took the examination, only 128 passed. The mass failure comes on the back of a similar failure in the Ghana Bar Examination few months ago where more than 90 percent of the 727 students who wrote that test failed, sparking agitations and complaints amongst the students and the public.

The students will, after the demonstration present a Petition to President Akufo-Addo.

Meanwhile, the Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, at a recent ceremony to enroll new lawyers said the General Legal Council (GLC) will never be pressurized to open the floodgates for mediocre students to enter the Ghana School of law.

She said the position of the General Legal Council remains that, admission to the Ghana School of Law for professional legal education requires that candidates obtain a minimum mark of 50 per cent in an entrance examination which will be administered by the Independent Examination Committee before entry into the school.
