MakersPlace, as part of their efforts to bring technology to the doorsteps of every child, held a meeting with parents on Saturday, March 4, at the Lotus Educational Centre in East Legon, Accra.
Speaking to GBC News, Mr Douglas Ayitey, the Founder and CEO of the internationally accredited STEM organisation in Ghana, said the meeting provided the opportunity to explain to the parents at the school the importance for them to acquire such knowledge at this time.
Also, he said the gathering provided an avenue for the parents to have first-hand experience in the technology process in order to appreciate what the organisation is doing.
Mr. Ayitey reminded the people that everything around us in this century is changing due to the influx of technology. To this end, he urged all to adapt to the use of technology in the learning process in our schools so that graduates who churn out will be able to meet the demands of the 21st century and avert the problem of graduate unemployment.
A staff member of MakersPlace, Mr. Mark Kuuzile Konyele, encouraged parents to enrol their children in the organisation. He said MakersPlace’s training in Artificial Intelligence will build the young ones up in technology and solve a lot of problems in the coming years.
Some parents who were at the meeting were full of joy and admiration for MakersPlace. One of them, Naa Anomone, advised other parents to get their wards admitted into the program.
She said that her personal experience on the day is evidence of the greater knowledge being given to the children.
