The Minister of State for Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, discussed President John Dramani Mahama’s first 30 days in office, focusing on the administration’s commitment to fiscal prudence by reducing the number of ministers.

Speaking during an interview with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV’s The Point of View,Kwakye Ofosu defended President Mahama’s decision to limit his cabinet to just 60 ministers, a significant reduction from previous administrations, emphasizing the president’s belief in efficient governance and responsible use of public funds.

Kwakye Ofosu highlighted that President Mahama is mindful of economic situation and is committed to utilizing public funds responsibly. This decision reflects a broader effort to streamline government operations and ensure that resources are directed towards serving the needs of the Ghanaian people.

The Minister of State also addressed concerns about whether a smaller cabinet would create political problems. Kwakye Ofosu argued that President Mahama had a mandate from the people to govern effectively and efficiently. He said that the President knows that we do not have to spend so much governing and that resources must actually go to those on whose behalf they are governing.

Kwakye Ofosu assured Ghanaians of President Mahama’s dedication to transparency and accessibility in government communication, promising to deliver accurate and timely information to the public.
