The Flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is in the Volta Region for two days as part of his nationwide campaign dubbed ‘Building Ghana’.
The former president with his entourage including some of the National Officers of the Party together with Regional Executives on day one of the tour, 11th January, 2024 held entry meeting with NDC stakeholders at Sogakorpe in the South Tongu Constituency at 8am, and moved to Tegbi in the Keta Constituency for community engagement at about 11am.
In the afternoon, Mr. Mahama will hold another Community engagement at Aflao in the Ketu South Constituency at about 1pm. He will later wrap up the day at Ketu North Constituency where he is expected to commission the Ketu North Party Office with a mammoth rally at Dzodze.
On 12th day of January, 2024, John Mahama will commence the day two of the tour by calling on Volta Regional House of Chiefs at Ho by 9am and later hold a town hall meeting at midday at Ho Technical University and move to St Francis College of Education at Hohoe Constituency for campus connect at 4pm.
In a statement issued Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide on November 03 2023 made it clear that, John Dramani Mahama, will intensify his nationwide ‘Building Ghana Tour’ to engage Ghanaians and revitalize the NDC in readiness for the 2024 presidential campaign.
According to her, the tour will begin a transformative journey aimed at connecting with supporters, spreading hope, and fulfilling promises made to branch executives of the NDC.
“The Building Ghana Tour will serve as a platform for Mahama to meet and interact with Ghanaians from all walks of life, supporters, and sympathisers of the NDC. As part of the tour, he will make crucial stops in key cities, towns, and villages and engage local communities to listen to their concerns, insights, and aspirations for a prosperous Ghana”, the statement said.
She said the Tour will involve various activities, including town hall meetings, community outreach programmes, honouring invitations from groups, communities and chiefs, and extensive conversations with various stakeholders.
Through this active connection with Ghanaians, Mahama aims to provide Ghanaians with renewed hope and reassurance. He will also reiterate his social contract with the people and prepare the party’s grassroots for the 2024 elections.
The tour is expected to help enrich the NDC’s campaign and manifest a unified vision for a prosperous Ghana built on inclusivity, economic growth, and social justice.
