As part of the Africities Summit, a day is set aside to prepare the contribution of Africa’s local and regional authorities for a migration week scheduled to take place in Marrakesh from December 5 to 11, 2018.
The day is to provide an opportunity to address the various challenges facing Africa, its local and regional authorities in managing migration flows and their consequences.
The General Secretary of the UCLG Africa, Mr. Jean Pierre Along Mbassi in an engagement with the media said there’s the need to identify strategies, principles of action and priorities for African local and regional authorities.
This will help provide decisive contributions on safe, orderly and regular migration.
He made these remarks at the 8th Africities Summit in Marrakesh.
