MCE of Sekondi Takoradi passes on

The Chief Executive of the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly Anthony Sam, has passed on.

A family source who disclosed this to the GNA said he died while on admission at the University of Ghana Medical Center, in Accra.

Mr Sam, who was sworn into office in April 2017, was a renowned educationist and an administrator.

Mr Sam, taught in a number of schools including Fijai Senior High School, Nana Brempong Yaw Junior High School, West Ridge Primary School and Nana Kobina Gyan Primary School.

He served on the boards of Ghana Secondary Technical School and St. John’s Secondary School.

From 2007 to 2009, he was the Western Regional Liaison Officer to the National Youth Employment Programme.

He began his Political career in 1998, where he served as a Polling Station Secretary of the NPP.

He then became Constituency Secretary from 2002 – 2005. In 2005, he was elected the Western Regional Secretary of the Party, and served until 2014.

He also served as a government appointee to the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly from 2002 – 2008.
