Mfantsipim, once again proved its prowess in the Central Region Schools and Colleges Athletics Inter-Zonal Championship by overcoming its arch-rivals, Augusco, in a thrilling competition held at the Cape Coast Stadium on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. The event marked the fifth consecutive title win for Mfantsipim, solidifying its position as a powerhouse in the region.
The competition, which showcased the best athletes from across the Central Region schools, was highlighted by the exceptional performance of Mfantsipim’s Joseph Ando Knofe.
Knofe’s incredible ability to excel across multiple disciplines earned him the title of best athlete in the men’s category.
He triumphed in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m and 4x200m events, securing first place in all.
His dominance was a key factor in Mfantsipim’s victory, as the team outperformed Augusco in both individual and relay events.
The win was not just a testimony to Knofe’s skill but also to the overall strength and unity of the Mfantsipim team. Their collective efforts propelled them to the top, leaving Augusco to grapple with the realization of their setbacks. ‘The Botwe boys’, as Mfantsipim is affectionately known, celebrated their historic achievements with pride and dedication.
As the inertia of the competition becomes intense, the focus for Mfantsipim shifts to the upcoming Super-Zonals, where they are defending champions. The team is eager to build on their current momentum and make another bold statement.
With the Central Region Inter-Zonal Athletics title under their belt, Mfantsipim is now looking ahead, determined to remain at the pinnacle of regional athletics.

Hello please they only lead by a meagre 28 points that’s not domination it’s barely surviving so kindly edit your article and be more factual instead of hypocritical . Did you know the augusco highjumper broke a record set in 1977. That’s something worth talking about not their “domination”
