The Minister for Works and Housing, Kenneth Gilbert Agyei has paid a working visit to Nsawam Water Treatment Plant to familiarize himself with works at the facility.
The plant supplies potable water to Nsawam- Adoagyiri, Adjen – Kotoku, Medie and part of Amasaman communities.
This is the maiden visit of the Minister to a Ghana Water Limited, GWL, water production facility since he assumed office.

The Minister was conducted round the plant by the Eastern Regional Chief Manager, Ing Paul Akpanya who reiterated the crucial need for expansion of the facility to meet the ever increasing water demand for the supply areas and the rapid urbanization of that enclave.
Some of the challenges revealed to the Minister were the low level of the raw water from the Densu river as a result of mining and other human activities, poor raw water quality increasing the cost of production and power outages.
Accompanying the Minister were the Deputy Managing Director of Operations, Ing Peter De Veer, the Regional Chief Manager, Ing Paul Akpanya, and some Regional Management members as well as staff of the plant.
