The Ministry of Health has outdoored some research works on health from selected researchers across the country for this year.
The initiative is to shape government’s policies and decisions towards the sector. A representative of the Minister of Health at this years National Health Research Dissemination Symposium in Accra, Lawrence Odartey Lawson, said any policy which has no evidence or support is not worth initiating, hence the initiative to disseminate the findings is a laudable idea.
The annual symposium creates the platform for the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service to showcase selected research works on health conducted in the country.
The Participants include health teams, policy makers, senior health service professionals and research students.
The focus of the symposium is how to “Speed up progress towards achieving SDG 3 with new knowledge, innovation and partnerships”.
A representative of the Minister of Health, Lawrence Odartey Lawson said such studies help to inform policies.
