Mohammed Kudus has been named the player of the season in the 2023–2024 Europa League campaign after putting up an outstanding performance in the competition. The Ghanaian was declared the player of the season by WhoScored.com.

The 23-year-old delivered some masterclass performances in West Ham’s run in the Europa League, only to be stopped in the quarterfinals by a formidable Bayern Leverkusen side, who eventually got punished in the finals by Atlanta who lifted the trophy.

Kudus scored one of the best goals in the history of European football when he took the ball from the centre of the field, beating the SC Freiburg players before slotting the ball into the back of the net. His excellent abilities on the ball saw him end the Europa League campaign with an impressive five goals in five games, depicting his superb form.

Kudus averaged a rating of 7.57, which was enough to outperform all his opponents in the Europa League, landing him a well-deserved player of the season in the competition.

The Ghanaian’s achievement this season outlines his potential to do greater things in the future, as there’s no sign of him slowing down anytime soon. His signature has already become a major chase for some big European clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.

Kudus will be expected to return to the Black Stars ahead of June’s World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic, as Ghana’s hope is to see him replicate that same form with the national shirt.
