The newly elected President of the Pediatrics Society of Ghana, Dr Hilda Mantebea Boye, said more than 100 children in the northern part of country are suspected to have contracted measles.

The figures come amid the shortage of childhood vaccines nationwide.

Ghana ran out of essential vaccines as a result of the Ministry of Health’s failure to secure procurement of these vaccines since the year began.

The other essential vaccines that are in short supply are polio and BCG.
