Mtn Ghana on Sunday, 1st December 2019 announced the introduction of their non-expiry data bundles and this was accompanied by an exorbitant internet charge increment.
The increment was received with much anger and disappointment from subscribers who showed their displeasure across various social media platforms.
Many subscribers were of the view that there was no need for the introduction of the non-expiry data bundles as data prices were too high and usually did not even last till their expiration.
Subscribers on Twitter jumped on the #SAVEOURDATA hashtag to express their displeasure and complaints towards the increment.
Seasoned sports journalist Saddick Adams said a formal request had been made for a police permit to embark on a #SAVEOURDATA walk where customers of all various networks in Ghana will make their voices heard and hopefully correct these exorbitant internet charges from the various telcos.
Reacting to the views of customers, MTN Ghana via their official twitter account said they are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”MTN has experienced some challenges on some of our channels post-implementation of the adjustment of prices and our new data bundles.”
“We are working round the clock to resolve the issues as soon as possible.”
“Our priority is to continue to delight you and give you value for your money,” the Twitter post said.
