The firefighting vehicle belonging to the Ghana National Fire Service in the Nabdam District in the Upper East Region is back on the road and ready for any emergency.
The vehicle with registration number FS 752 was spotted at a tyre technician’s shop around 6:48 in the morning on Wednesday at Zopeliga along the Bolgatanga-Bawku road suspected to be going through some general maintenance. The two front tyres were immediately replaced on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, they quickly produced another four pieces of tyres for the back of the vehicle to maintain good balance.
In the early morning on Thursday, 5th September 2024, the vehicle was also well positioned in front of the old assembly block in Nangodi after a thorough wash. GBC News also gathered that all the six tyres of the vehicle have been replaced and fit for purpose.
The Nabdam District Coordinating Director Rosina Musah also confirmed it when she called our reporter Peter Agengre on 4th September 2024 via phone to register her displeasure about his report.
GBC News’ Upper East Regional Correspondent Peter Agengre on 2nd August, 2024 revealed in his publication that the firefighting vehicle at the Nangodi office of the Ghana National Fire Service was unable to move (for eight weeks) due to a damaged tyre which made the staff incapacitated to respond to a fire outbreak that struck the office of a fuel station in Pelungu in August this year.
Twenty four hours after the report, all six tyres of the vehicle have been replaced and the fire fighting vehicle put back on the road.
