The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has welcomed the promise by the Electoral Commission, to release to political parties, corrected and updated version of the 2024 Provisional Voters Register, PVR for scrutiny within one week.

It has also accepted the decision by the Commission to re-exhibit the updated Provisional Voters’ Register, but recommends, that the exercise is conducted online and offline at the exhibition centres.

These are contained a statement signed by General Secretary of the party, Fifi Kwetey, following an Interparty Advisory Committee meeting yesterday, which discussed the Provisional Voters Register and other election related matters.

The NDC says the EC made some admissions such as the illegal transfer of voters due to the lack of liveliness test technology, which occurred in Pusiga and other constituencies, vulnerable EC IT system, that is susceptible to data manipulation and infiltration among others.

The NDC is therefore demanding a multi-stakeholder and interparty examination of the IT system of the Electoral Commission, that will address the vulnerabilities which could compromise the integrity of the December polls.
