The New Patriotic Party, NPP, has officially opened nominations for individuals aspiring to become Parliamentary candidates in constituencies that have been captured by the party and currently has a sitting Member of Parliament.
Weeks after the party elected Parliamentary candidates for orphaned constituencies, constituencies with sitting NPP Members of Parliament will have their waters stirred as they seek a formidable team to partner their Flagbearer to ‘Break the eight.’
A total number of 138 Members of Parliament will have their competence tested.
The nomination officially opened today, December 20, 2023 and will close on January 4, 2024.
In a statement to declare timelines adopted by the party on its internal election, the NPP has barred National, Regional, Constituency Party Executives and Municipal and District Chief Executives from contesting in constituencies where the party has sitting Members of Parliament.
The primaries after the closure of nominations will come off on February 24, 2024 across the various constituencies.
