The National Union of Ghana Students, (NUGS) says it supports the demonstration by students of KNUST, what the union is not happy about however, is the vandalisation of property on campus.

Speaking on Radio Ghana’s Current Affairs Programme, “Behind the News”, Co-President of NUGS, Elisha Essuman said the reactive nature of the authorities of the Universtiy especially the hostile nature of the security towards the students prompted the violence with nature at which the students acted. He said brutality on students must stop.

An Alumnus of the School Henry Nana Boakye also condemned the vandalisation of property on the campus. He said although they supports the demonstration, the turn of events was rather unfortunate.

Speaking on the same programme  Mr. Boakye said that the University Authorities acted way out of line, resulting in students riots.
