Nurses in Tema bemoan lack of protective gear amidst spread of coronavirus

Nurses in the Tema Metropolis have asked for protective gear and better planning to enable them effectively deal with the spread of COVID-19.

According to them, health care workers are critically at risk of contracting the virus, saying they lack protective gears and protocols to keep themselves, patients and families safe.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana at an emergency meeting on the handling of COVID-19 virus and preparedness, the Nurses noted that their health are not prioritised.

President of the Tema Metro Health Providers Association, Vitus Victor Abaab-Bisi, who is also a member of the National COVID 19 Coordination Committee said the association has resolved to collaborate with all health facilities in the Metropolis to support the other facilities with their expertise.
