The recent murder of two security men at Wa has necessitated security discussions in Parliament. Two Members of Parliament (MPs), Yusif Sulemana of Bole-Bamboi and Rashid Pelpuo of Wa Central, raised the concerns.
The discussion has occasioned Parliament to summon the Minister for the Inteior, Henry Quartey to brief it next week Wednesday.
Mr. Suleimana said there is a growing trend of serial killings and the minister needs to appear before the House to outline measures being put in place to curtail it.
Adding his voice to the plea, Wa Central MP, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo said the recent killings in his constituency seem to target watchmen.
Majority Chief Whip Frank Annor Dompreh said the incidents are disturbing and so the Minister must as soon as possible be made to appear before the house.
Minority Leader Dr Cassiel Ato Forson stressed that time is of the essence in dealing with matters like this.
The second deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Fomena, Andrew Amoako Asiamah who was in the chair directed that, the Interior minister should appear before Parliament next week Wednesday to brief the House on the situation and what government is doing to protect the citizens of these two constituencies.
