Parliament to hold crisis meeting ahead of mid-year review of economic policy of government

Parliament is scheduled to hold a crunch meeting between the two political parties in parliament to iron out some pertinent issues related to the 2024 budget and economic policy of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led Government for the 2024 financial year presented to Parliament on Wednesday, 15th November 2023 by the former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta on the theme: “Pursuing Growth & Development Within a Stable Macroeconomic Environment”.

The Joint Caucus meeting, proposed by the Business Committee is to be held on Wednesday, 3rd July 2024 after adjournment is deemed to be of an “urgent” nature and will focus on pertinent matters that would be discussed in preparation for the Mid-Year Review of the Economic Policy of Government.

Presenting the business statement for the 4th week ending Friday, 5th July, 2024, the Majority Leader and Leader of Government business Alexander Afenyo-Markin, MP for Effutu called on his colleagues to avail themselves for the meeting, “in this regard, all Hon. Members are encouraged to avail themselves at the meeting”.
