The newly elected independent Member of Parliament for the Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Region, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has opened up about his alignment in Ghana’s upcoming Parliament.

In a Facebook post on January 6th, 2025, A-Plus revealed that both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have approached him for collaboration, each presenting a strong case worthy of consideration.

“The NPP, led by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has officially approached me to discuss aligning with them in Parliament. Their proposal includes several intriguing agreements, such as a commitment that they will not contest the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 election. The NDC, with whom I genuinely wish to align, has also invited me for a meeting tomorrow at 8 a.m.,” he stated.

A-Plus observed that this offer was a substantial overture, showcasing the NPP’s genuine commitment to gaining his support.

However, he expressed a genuine desire to align with the NDC, stating that his heart genuinely wishes to align with them.

While he admitted to having friends in both political camps, A-Plus clearly stated that his decision will not be based on sentiment but rather the interest of his people.

“I will ultimately side with whoever has my interest at heart and provides the best offer for me and the people of Gomoa Central,” he declared.
