Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo has expressed strong support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s bid to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) again.

She believes he deserves another chance, just like past leaders who won after multiple attempts.

Speaking on JoyNews on Thursday, March 20, Adwoa Safo dismissed claims that Bawumia lacks popularity.

“We will bring Dr. Bawumia back as the NPP’s flagbearer. He is the best person to lead the party. We have marketed him before, and we will do it again. Everyone deserves a second chance,” she said.

She cited former presidents such as John Kufuor, John Atta Mills, and Nana Akufo-Addo, who contested multiple times before winning.

She questioned why some people claim Bawumia is unpopular, insisting that past leaders faced similar challenges before succeeding.

Adwoa Safo also criticised attempts to silence Bawumia’s supporters within the NPP.

“Nobody brought me into this party, and no one owns it. We are all here to build it. When people speak against Bawumia, it is accepted, but when we support him, we are told to keep quiet. We will not be silenced,” she declared.

She firmly stated her commitment to Bawumia’s presidential bid, calling him a humble and honest leader.

“We will not stop until Dr. Bawumia becomes the president of this country. He deserves it,” she added.
