The Member of Parliament for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has offered an unreserved apology to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), specifically to President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, for her recent behaviour.

In a post, she said her action which was not intentional was as a result of personal challenges she was grappling with, both as an individual and as a member of a family.

Adjoa Sarfo was hauled before Parliament in 2022 for absenting herself for more than 15 sittings during the first meeting of the Second Session of Parliament.

She was absent from her post for over a year after travelling to the United States.

Some MPs called for her seat to be declared vacant.

The former Deputy Majority Leader in a viral video shared on social media also sought forgiveness from the Majority Caucus, as well as from the party’s Regional and Constituency Executives.
