The Director of Communication of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Richard Ahiagbah says the divided reactions that greeted President Akufo-Addo’s televised address on Ghana’s economic challenges were not surprising.
President Akufo-Addo in his address yesterday, told Ghanaians that his government cares about them hence, is working hard to ameliorate the hardships they are going through presently.
Commenting on the President’s address, on the GTV’s Breakfast Show, on Monday, October 31 2022, the NPP’s Communications Director explained that yesterday’s nationwide televised address by Mr. Akufo-Addo is not the only address that has received such divided reactions.
“The divided opinion about His Excellency’s address was expected because this is not the first time there have been divided reactions about any address.” he reiterated.
He said the President was bold to admit that things are hard and that even though the hardships Ghanaians are encountering are a global phenomenon, the government also has a responsibility to the citizens.
Delivering an address to the nation on Sunday, October 30, Mr. Akufo-Addo said “It is evident, fellow Ghanaians, you have a government that cares. We are determined to restore stability to the economy and provide relief.
“We are all in this together, and I am asking for your support to rescue Ghana from the throes of this economic crisis.”
