The Movement for Change presidential candidate, Alan Kyerematen, has taken his turn on GBC’s Presidential Encounters. He took a swipe at the New Patriotic Party (NPP), a Party he nurtured, saying it is a diminishing party.
In an answer to a question on why he abandoned the Party to form the Movement for Change, he gave a historical explanation that he had been at the thick of things in the NPP since 1992, but he decided to make a move because “it was time.” He said some people believe he had stayed too long in the party and also gave the opportunity to others to lead the charge.
“Forget about the NPP, it’s a declining Party”, Mr Kyerematen said moving on to respond to other questions.
Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen is a Ghanaian politician, a corporate executive, and a former member of the New Patriotic Party. He was Ghana’s Minister for Trade and Industry from 2017 to 2023.
His Movement for Change is touting the “The Great Transformational Plan”, designed to build an Enterprise Economy in Ghana and eventually “lead to Jobs for the People and Cash for the People,” according to Mr. Kyerematen.
