In a bold move to transform Ghana’s economy, Alan Kyerematen, the Flag-bearer for the Movement for Change, has outlined his vision for the country’s trade and commerce sector.

Speaking at the Presidential Encounter at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Mr. Kyerematen highlighted his experience as the Chief Architect and lead negotiator for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), describing it as a “major development”.

Kyerematen’s plans focus on boosting domestic trade, increasing export revenue, and improving market conditions for traders, particularly women.

He proposes establishing a trader’s bank to provide affordable credit, developing modern market infrastructure, and enhancing market conditions.

The Flag-bearer also aims to increase export revenue to $30 billion by 2030, a significant leap from the current $2-4 million. This ambitious target is expected to stabilize Ghana’s local currency and drive economic growth.

Kyerematen’s vision for Ghana’s trade and commerce sector is built on his extensive experience in the field and his commitment to empowering Ghanaian traders and businesses. He believes that by supporting local businesses and traders, Ghana can reduce its reliance on imports and create jobs for its citizens.

As a seasoned Trade Expert, Mr. Kyerematen says he is well-positioned to drive Ghana’s economic growth and development.

His plans for the trade and commerce sector are expected to propel a positive impact on the country’s economy and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
