Ghana, Algeria reaffirm bilateral ties

In a gesture that underscores the enduring bond between Ghana and Algeria, the Algerian Ambassador to Ghana, Mourad Louhaidia, has paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s first female Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

The visit celebrates Ghana’s democratic milestones and reaffirms the shared commitment to Pan-African ideals and bilateral cooperation.

The Algerian Ambassador to Ghana, Mourad Louhaidia, has extended his warm congratulations to Ghana for its successful and peaceful elections, describing the country’s democratic standards as exemplary.

During his courtesy call on Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the Ambassador lauded Ghana’s remarkable progress and expressed Algeria’s admiration for its democratic achievements over the years.

Ambassador Louhaidia also conveyed Algeria’s high regard for Ghana’s historical contributions to Pan-Africanism, citing the legacy of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, whose vision and leadership remain a beacon of unity on the continent. He highlighted the shared values of democracy and African solidarity between Algeria and Ghana, emphasising the mutual respect and cooperation that have characterised their bilateral relations.

Expressing his country’s readiness to strengthen these ties, the Ambassador noted Algeria’s willingness to explore new avenues of collaboration, especially in areas of trade, cultural exchange, and mutual support on international platforms.

Vice President Opoku-Agyemang, in turn, acknowledged the longstanding partnership between the two nations, expressing her gratitude for Algeria’s continued support. She reiterated Ghana’s commitment to fostering deeper cooperation, particularly in advancing the collective aspirations of African unity and development.

The meeting served as a reaffirmation of the enduring friendship between the two countries, underpinned by their shared history and vision for a strong, prosperous Africa.
