Reports reaching GBC’s Radio Ghana correspondent indicate that armed men suspected to be robbers have attacked the MP-elect for Keta, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey at his Anlo Afiadenyigba residence.
Radio Ghana’s correspondent Bubu Klinogo reports that Mr. Gakpey who was able to escape from physical attacks by his assailants is now responding to treatment at the hospital.
A brother of the MP, Edem Gakpey who is a Mobile Money vendor said the robbers made away with more than ¢25,000 and other valuables.
Meanwhile, reports say angry youth of the area have stormed the Afiadenyigba Police Station to demand reasons why the Police were not available to attend to the MP- Elect while he was under attack.
Youth leaders and Chiefs and other option leaders are having difficulty controlling the youth. Both the divisional and district commanders came around but the situation remains unabated.
