As the 2024 elections approach, Ayawaso West-Wuogon emerges as a critical battleground with significant socio-economic and political dynamics.

Represented by Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), this constituency includes key areas such as East Legon, West Legon, Jorwulu, and Tessano.

Despite its vibrant community, Ayawaso West-Wuogon faces several pressing issues. Youth unemployment remains a major concern, with many young residents struggling to find stable jobs and often resorting to temporary or informal employment.

Housing is another critical challenge. The influx of migrants seeking construction jobs has led to a shortage of affordable housing, resulting in overcrowded living conditions. This highlights the urgent need for improved urban planning and housing policies.

Environmental concerns, particularly waste disposal, are also significant. Inconsistent waste management services have led to indiscriminate dumping in some areas. As the elections draw near, the performance of the incumbent MP and responses to these socio-economic challenges might play a crucial role in influencing voter behavior.
