Vice President and Flagbearer of NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says the government is putting in place measures to check delays in the payment of nursing and teacher trainee allowances.

Addressing students of the Nurses and Midwifery Training College, at Teshie as part of his Constituency-focused nationwide campaign in Ledzekoku, Dr. Bawumia said his government will continue with the payment of trainee allowances to students, stressing that an allowance delayed is better than being totally cancelled.

Dr. Bawumia, taking his constituency-focused nationwide campaign to Ledzekoku, began his tour at Teshie, where he held a stakeholder’s engagement with opinion leaders, and other recognised groups to listen to their challenges and share ideas on how to solve them. Such engagements also present him the opportunity to outline his policies in Bold Solutions for Business and Jobs.

The flagbearer’s next stop was at Teshie Tsuii Bleeoo Lorry station, where he interacted with the people in the area. He later engaged students at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Teshie.

Dr Bawumia, touting the achievements of the government, said a lot of initiatives have been rolled out, especially in the health sector, to put the country on the right path. He announced that his government will, among other things, restore the waiver of taxes on vehicles for nurses. He also touched on the AGENDA 111 project.

The Aspiring MP for Ledzekoku, Bernard Okoe Boye, in a remark, urged the students to vote for a President who has the possibility mindset to take the country forward.

Dr. Bawumia will also tour La and its environs.
