NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has disclosed that the next NPP government will harmonise port charges to align with the challenges of competing with regional ports, particularly Lome-Togo.

Giving a breakdown of the details of his 2024 Manifesto, Dr. Bawumia noted that flat rate duties for all importers will be implemented to bring predictability and stability to the prices of imported goods.

“Duties in our port will not be higher than duties in Lome-Togo,” he emphasised.

The issue of a tax break is one area Ghanaians are looking forward to in the next government.
