We cannot afford to reset Ghana – Dr Bawumia

The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says Ghana cannot afford to opt for a reset being proposed by former President John Mahama.

At a mini rally at Juaso in the Asante Akim South Constituency, Dr. Bawumia said a reset means undoing all the great feats chalked up over the years and returning to the dark days of dumsor, poor economic growth, and mismanagement, urging them to choose Upgrade, Innovative Ideas, and Bold Solutions for Jobs.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his Possibility team made a stop at Juaso in the Asante Akim South Constituency in the Ashanti Region.

The Asante Akim South Constituency is the only area Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaigned in on Saturday. Over the years, this area has been considered a stronghold of the NPP.

In the 2020 election, the NPP won the Presidential election by more than 40 thousand votes. Dr. Bawumia’s work in the constituency was to consolidate the votes of the party and increase their margins in both Parliamentary and Presidential elections this year.

Dr. Bawumia first had a stakeholder engagement at Juaso, the Municipal capital to share thoughts with the constituency leaders. Dr. Bawumia told the gathering about how he wants to utilise solar energy to reduce the cost of electricity in the country.

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency Mr. Kwaku Asante Boateng, said all the major developments in the constituency were done by the NPP; therefore, the constituency must show appreciation to the NPP in 2024.

Dr. Bawumia said the reset proposal by former President John Mahama is just to return Ghana to one of her most difficult periods of Dumsor.

He promised training for five thousand youth in digital skills to enable them to participate in the fourth industrial revolution.
