Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has met with Ghana’s Civil Society Organizations and explained his vision to them canvassing for votes in the December 7th polls.

He wrote in a post, “Last night, I had the honour of interacting with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Accra, to share with them, my impactful contributions to the country as Vice President, as well as my vision and policies, which I intend to implement as President, by the grace of God, for the transformation of our country”.

Dr Bawumia’s speech dwelt heavily on digitalization.

“Among others, I highlighted how our focus on digitalization has helped address generational problems, such as lack of a unique national identity for citizens, lack of national address system and huge financial exclusion of citizens, with the implementation of the Ghana card, property address system and mobile money interoperability respectively”, he noted.

“I also shared how our digitalization efforts are ensuring efficiency and transparency in public service delivery, which is also helping in the fight against corruption”, the Vice President said.

From then on, I outlined my vision for a modern, transparent, and inclusive Ghana built on systems and data.

He expressed gratitude to the CSOs for their presence and their frank and insightful contributions.

“Consider CSOs as indispensable components of our governance system, who have a lot to offer, and I am looking forward to working closely with them as President, by the grace of God.”
