In his address to the Ad-hoc Committee, the Minister of Finance said in denial of accusations leveled against him of economic mismanagement that, he did not manage the economy recklessly as the proponent of the Motion of Censure accuse him of.
He highlighted that under his auspices, the government has put all efforts together to alleviate the ordinary Ghanaian off their impoverished state since 2017 by stating some policies and incentives implemented by the government to ensure such course.
These responses came about as a result of accusations by the proponent of the Motion of Censure which states that the Minister had recklessly mismanaged the economy which led to the swift depreciation of the Cedi.
While he remarked on the choice of words by the proponent to describe his alleged performance, he largely attributed the depreciation of the Cedi to external factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine war.
Mr. Ofori Atta further disproved other accusations of the final five allegations on the grounds of accusations leveled against him as he described the Motion of Censure against him as uncalled for.
