Leadership of the NPP and Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Party Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly called Chairman Wontumi are appearing before the Kumasi Traditional Council over alleged derogatory comments against Asanteman.
Members of the Kumasi Traditional Council last week directed the NPP to produce Chairman Wontumi to appear before them over alleged derogatory remarks made against the Asantehene.
This follows an altercation between Mr. Antwi Boasiako and the Kokosohene, Nana Kwaku Dua, at the recent vetting of Parliamentary aspirants in the Ashanti Region.
Though Chairman Wontumi denied making any such remarks, he was invited by the Traditional Council for a hearing, which he failed to honor due to ill health.
The NPP National Leadership, which appeared before the Council to plead for more time, was directed to ensure Chairman Wontumi made an appearance within one week, which is today.
Correspondent Akosua Frema Osei Asare who is at the Manhyia Palace confirmed that Chairman Wontumi has reported himself to the Council. However, the outcome of the meeting was yet to be known.
