Nana Kwame Bediako, widely known as Cheddar and the presidential candidate for the New Force party, has firmly rejected allegations that he failed to vote for his own party in the 2024 presidential election.
During a media briefing on December 23, he confirmed that both he and his wife voted for him, reiterating his dedication to his party.
“Yes, my wife voted for me, and I voted for myself,” expressing disappointment.
Cheddar also took this opportunity to highlight the necessity for electoral reforms to enhance transparency and accountability within Ghana’s democratic framework. He voiced concerns regarding discrepancies in election results and the insufficient oversight of polling station agents, which he believes jeopardize the electoral process’s integrity.
To tackle these challenges, Cheddar proposed the establishment of a strong, legally-backed system designed to uphold the transparency and credibility of Ghana’s democracy. His suggestions include measures to combat electoral fraud, ensure accurate vote counting, and hold polling station agents accountable for their conduct.
Cheddar’s push for electoral reforms aligns with widespread worries about the integrity of Ghana’s democratic system. As the nation continues to grapple with the intricacies of its electoral processes, it is crucial to emphasize transparency, accountability, and adherence to the rule of law to guarantee that election outcomes truly reflect the people’s will.
