The Spokesperson of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, has delivered a crucial message on the GTV Breakfast Show, calling for a peaceful and orderly election process in Ghana as the nation braces for the upcoming polls on Saturday, December 7.

During the broadcast, Sheikh Aremeyaw emphasised the importance of maintaining peace and non-violence during the electoral period. He urged citizens to uphold their civic duty with integrity, stating, “Do not accept weapons to harm others. Act as responsible citizens willing to safeguard our nation’s peace.”

In his address, the sheikh also highlighted the significance of following the law and respecting designated boundaries set by authorities. Regardless of one’s background, he urged all individuals to refrain from disruptive behaviour, stating, “Respect the restrictions in place to ensure a smooth voting process. Let us avoid actions that may escalate tensions and necessitate unnecessary intervention.”

Moreover, Sheikh Aremeyaw directed a special message to political leaders, urging them to communicate with their supporters to maintain vigilance and adhere to lawful conduct. He emphasised the unity of Ghana, urging all to prioritise collective well-being over individual interests.

As Ghana prepares for the election, the Chief Imam’s call for peace serves as a poignant reminder of the nation’s shared responsibility to uphold democracy and safeguard the country’s harmony.
