Private Legal Practitioner, Benjamin Antiedu says the allegations against the Chief Justice over a five-million-dollar bribery claim is spurious and damaging to the judiciary.
He said such a development is worrying and would be a dent on the whole legal fraternity if the allegations are found to be true.
Speaking on GBC`s Current Affairs Programme “Behind the News”, Mr. Antiedu said this is not a matter to be treated lightly.
He therefore lauded the Chief Justice for petitioning a neutral body that is the IGP to investigate the allegations as it will help unravel the truth.
A Co-Chair of Citizens Movement Against Corruption, Edem Senanu, on his part described the allegations as very dicey and tricky.
He said the decisions by the Chief Justice to petition the IGP is a move in the right direction.
