The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) will be observing the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency by-election to be conducted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

CODEO is deploying a total of thirty (30) observers who will undertake roaming observation of randomly selected polling stations across the various electoral areas in the constituency.

These were contained in a statement issued by CODEO on its website.

According to the statement, the observers will follow election-day processes such as the opening of polling stations, the availability of registration materials, and the functioning of biometric equipment.

It further said they will also observe the conduct of election officials and other stakeholders, as well as compliance to electoral rules.

“CODEO wishes to take the opportunity to remind all stakeholders, particularly political parties, the Electoral Commission and poll officials, voters and the public, to strive to uphold the integrity of the polls.”

“The Coalition will share its observation findings on the exercise with the public.” The statement concluded.
