President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been asked to consider Wassa Amenfi as part of the Western North Region.
A Divisional Chief of Wassa Sompre in the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area, Nana Sasraku Gyimah, who made the call, said the people have realised their mistakes and rescinded their decision to join the Western North Region.
He made the appeal at the inauguration of a Secretariat for the Western North Region at Sompre in the Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region.
According to him, the Paramount Chief, Tetrete Akuamoah Sekyim, signed the petition to be part of the Western North but not South.
Nana Gyimah appealed to the President to consider all the past mistakes made and count their districts namely Amenfi West, Amenfi Central and Amenfi East, among the Western North since more infrastructural development will be spread across the new Region.
He said they have been denied such facilities for long and need to be given a facelift through development projects which can also provide job opportunities for the unemployed especially the youth.
